Development Training II (DT II)
Location Egypt
Performance period January 1997 - January 2000
Partner Chemonics International
Budget $661,705
Donor/Client USAID
Contract 7026-00-02 (subcontract); 263-0244-C-00-7026-00 (prime contract)
This project was unique in that it was one of the first training projects created following the USAID reengineering process. It focused on supporting all of USAID/Egypt's strategic objectives and supporting the "results oriented" program. The first step was to conduct training needs assessments for the strategic objectives, and then implement the training plans. Under subcontract to the Institute of International Education, Chemonics guided the development of management training programs for USAID projects by preparing training needs assessments in agricultural technology and economics, water and wastewater, economic policy reform, and air pollution.
