Environmental education and communication are essential components of integrated resource management programs. This soft approach to integrated water management includes a broad range of tools from the distribution of marketing materials, like brochures, pamphlets, commercials, to informational seminars, formal trainings and courses for government officials and other relevant experts. By promoting community participation and educating people within the community about the impact their actions have on their environment and their community, these tools help change and develop social norms that encourage and shape individual environmental-friendly behavior and practices.
